Richard Courtney is a veteran real estate broker in Nashville, Tennessee.

 

This book results from knowledge gained from the sale of more than 1,500 properties since he entered the real estate business in 1978.

Courtney is an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), and a Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB). He has served on the boards of the
National Association of REALTORS®, the Tennessee Association of REALTORS and the Greater Nashville Association of REALTORS, and he was president of the state and local boards. He also serves as the NAR Federal Political Coordinator to Congressman Jim Cooper.

 

Courtney holds the Lifetime Award of Excellence from the Greater Nashville Association of REALTORS and was honored by the organization with the President’s Award for his work in affordable housing and as REALTOR of the Year. He was also named REALTOR of the Year by the Tennessee Association of REALTORS and voted “Best Realtor” by Nashville Scene readers.

When he’s not selling real estate or writing books, he’s providing up-to-the-minute commentary on the real estate market. Courtney is the real estate columnist for the Nashville Ledger, and also provides commentary for industry publications and associations, as well as local, regional and national news programs. 

Courtney is an active community volunteer and has served in numerous leadership positions in Nashville. A well-known Beatles historian, Courtney hosts Nashville's only Beatles radio show, "From Me To You."  An alumnus of Columbia Military Academy in Columbia, Tennessee, and the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, Courtney lives in Nashville with his wife, Beth, their son and daughter and two dogs.
